Lord grant me the patience to venture
out into this twisted world in which we live.
Helping those who have fallen upon sickness
and injury.
The ability to arrive where my services are
needed, swiftly and safely.
I ask for the knowledge to discover each
problem with the signs and symptoms available
to me.
The steadiness of mind and body to treat each
individual with as little discomfort to them
as possible.
Bestow upon me, the graciousness to accept a word
of thanks humbly and modestly.
And shall my efforts be futile, please give me
the courage to accept that I've done my best, so
that I may have the heart to carry on to the next
call of duty.
